Privacy Policy
TDH respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and in the course of our work, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. It is written in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
Who we are
TDH is the business name of TDH Pty Limited (ABN 19 087 176 565), an accounting, audit and taxation practice based at 12 Salonika Street, Parap NT 0820 (GPO Box 4587, Darwin NT 0801). You can reach us on 08 8941 1460 or at admin@tdhnt.com.au. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean TDH.
Personal information we collect
When you contact us through this website. Our contact form asks for your name, email address, phone number, a subject and your message. We use these details only to respond to your enquiry. The form is sent to us by email and is not published on the website.
When we act for you. If you engage us for accounting, audit, taxation or advisory work, we collect and hold the information needed to do that work — for example identity and verification documents, financial records, payroll and superannuation data, tax file numbers, bank details and correspondence. Some of this information is required by law, including the taxation and corporations legislation and anti-money-laundering obligations.
When you visit the website. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is found and used — which pages are visited, how long for, the referring source, approximate location (city level), and browser or device type. Reports are aggregated; we do not use Google Analytics to identify individual visitors, and we have not enabled advertising or remarketing features.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_*) in your browser so it can tell new visits from returning ones. The website itself does not set advertising cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings — the site will still work — or install Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Why we collect and use it
- to answer your enquiry and stay in touch about it;
- to provide accounting, audit, taxation and advisory services, and to manage our engagement with you;
- to meet our legal and professional obligations, including lodgements with the Australian Taxation Office and ASIC and our record-keeping duties;
- to keep the website secure, and to understand and improve how it performs.
When we share information
We do not sell personal information. We may share it with:
- service providers who help us operate — our website host and IT support, and our email provider;
- the Australian Taxation Office, ASIC, and other government bodies or regulators where the law requires or authorises it;
- your other professional advisers, or third parties such as banks or lenders, where you have asked us to; and
- anyone else, with your consent.
Some of these providers store information outside Australia — Google (analytics) and Microsoft (email) both operate globally — so your information may be held on servers overseas. We take reasonable steps to deal only with providers that protect information consistently with the APPs.
How we protect it
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access: the website is served over an encrypted connection, access to client records is limited to staff who need it, and our systems are password-protected and kept up to date. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but if a data breach occurs that is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify affected people and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required.
How long we keep it
Website enquiries are kept for up to two years unless they become a client relationship. Client records are kept for at least seven years, or longer where the law or our professional obligations require it, after which they are securely destroyed.
Access and correction
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong. Email admin@tdhnt.com.au or call 08 8941 1460. We will respond within 30 days. There are some limited circumstances where we may decline a request — for example where the law requires us to keep a record — and we will explain why if that happens.
Complaints
If you think we have handled your information badly, please tell us first so we can try to fix it — use the contact details above. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner: GPO Box 5218, Sydney NSW 2001, phone 1300 363 992, or oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version always sits on this page, and the date below shows when it last changed. This policy does not cover the privacy practices of other websites we link to.
